Sketchpads
(Sam Bunn, 2008)
Apart from the one for Emmy The Great's We Almost Had A Baby, which is the most brutal undermining of musical beauty this side of finding out what Fleet Foxes look like, I'm a fan of low-budget indie narrative videos. But I'll admit that when Sam Bunn explained how this was going to work I was sceptical that he could pull it off. Fool. He not only pulls it off with considerable panache, but comes up with the most disturbing postscript to anything ever, including Deliverance.

Live At Douai
(Catherine Timmers, 2006)
I Spy Dry Fear (excerpt) / Yer Actual / It's Coming Straight For Us (excerpt)
Sin-le Noble, Douai, 11/11/2006
We had a song where we'd stop in the middle and allow something different, if not always entirely spontaneous, to happen each night. This being both North-Eastern France and November 11th, we went for the two minute silence. People weren't sure if we were taking the piss. We weren't sure if we were taking the piss. One guy piped up something about "Militarisme! fascisme!" but he was shushed by his neighbours.
Unfortunately, that bit isn't included in this short - and beautifully presented - film made by Catherine Timmers to commemorate the evening.
